Mumbai,
October 2016 – 1st October 2016,
Inorbit Mall witnessed a power packed evening with the screening of “1869” –
one of the first short films from India set in the periodic era. This period
drama witnessed exceptional performances by the young talented kids who matched
the performance of the multi-talented actor, Raghubir Yadav. One of the kids
was selected from Inorbit mall’s campaign “Baccha Bollywood” – a film making
workshop for kids with a passion for film making. Sanaya Das from Mumbai,
bagged the role of a small girl in the movie.
The
campaign “Baccha Bollywood” is the brainchild of Inorbit Malls, which was
initiated with a view to engage kids in their summer vacation by introducing
them to film making and giving them a chance to star in a film with renowned
names from the film fraternity.
The
idea of the movie “1869” was developed by renowned ad film maker, Pranav
Harihar Sharma after a thorough 6 month research process. Set in the 19th
Century Victorian Hospital in India under the British Raj, the story revolves
around three orphan kids, who set about solving the mystery of a missing new
born. Produced by the Gang of Motion Pictures, this 25 minute film is one of
the most expensive short films made in India. Apart from Sanaya Das, the other
kids who played the key roles were Vedanth Dattani and Kabir Sajid. Backed by
strong performance by the supporting cast of Abhishek Pathak, Kiran Khoje,
Beena Banerjee, Vijay Kumar and Chris Peter the movie was loved by the
guests/audience. 1869 will now
be sent out as nominations for various film festivals in India and abroad.
Commenting
on this occasion, Mr. Puneet Varma, Associate Vice President, Marketing and
Corporate Communications, Inorbit Malls said “India is a land of talent and Inorbit
mall always creates platforms to promote talent. Baccha Bollywood was one such
platform which garnered massive response from kids. Team Inorbit thanks Pranav
and Gang of Motions team for giving an opportunity to Sanaya, who was a part of
